If I can sum up this game in one word, it’s ‘pacing’. I got to play a pre-alpha build demo of The Last of Us at a GAME lock-in, and while it’s not immediately impressive it has got some interesting mechanics to it that interested me enough to keep playing. Part adventure platformer, part stealth, part close combat and gun action, part survival tools; it’s an interesting mix that create a game that manages to be both hard and forgiving. I don’t wanna go into too much detail, as that would take either paragraphs or an audio podcast to fully explain. But know this; the Last of Us is pretty awesome just from this early build alone, and I expect a really unique experience from the full game. Troy Baker was right when he said on twitter that this isn’t your typical zombie game.
